Wednesday

welcome to my creative world

 You're welcome to step into my head for a moment to see how I get ready for a photo session.

Only having an hour or even sometimes 30 minutes, I need every minute to make the most out of it.

PREVISION and PLAN

Pinterest is a great way to keep my Styling Team Initiative motivated, organized, and prepped for our future concept themes.

Using a sketches at photoshoots have proven to keep all focused, coordinated and obtaining the winning shot within the limited time frame.

It's true that, "A picture is worth a thousand words" and to have our complex concept to be conveyed within a sketch, MAGIC!

The stylist (Caroline Alice Crothers Sugden) made the sketches of photos that my Styling Team Initiative are aiming to have at the end of FOX E. and The Good Hand's promotional photoshoot.

 "Be realistic here, there’s no point in trying to fit 10 different sets into 60 minutes. You’d rather have a few sets that are well executed and some time left for improvisation than hurrying through your sets and missing some important issues with the lighting or positioning of the band."

As you see, the sketches can vary a bit from the winning shot. We work together and adjust until we've got something that my lens loves.

"For me the post processing is a part of the creative aspect of photography, usually I know precisely how the finished product should look like and more often than not this includes post processing. That doesn’t mean that every picture should be heavily post processed. It should be used in a creative way and not to correct mistakes that could have been prevented in-camera."

For me the post processing is the part which is comparable to film development and print in analog photography.

It's the integral part where I get lost into my creative world to make my previsions become real.

It's such an great opportunity to work with a band who are just launching some very new exciting stuff...

 IS JUST MIND BLOWING!

I felt a bit like Nick Fury by calling my Styling Team Initiative.

The idea was to bring together a group of of remarkable people (stylist, hair, makeup and assistants) to see if they could become something more. To see if they could work together when I needed them to, to create the photoshoot concept that will suit this particular Irish funk-driven soulful band

"Front woman Eimear Fox has been labelled one of the most entertaining female performers on the Irish music scene."

Storytelling imagery and band promotional photography are two quite different kettles of fish. However, I was up for the challenge and so was my amazing fellow avenger, Caroline ~ Hair by Cherry on Top

"There’s a lot of factors that you need to take into consideration in order to get the pictures that you want. 80% of the work is done during the preparation of the shoot. The better the preparation the smoother everything will work out on the day of the shoot."

After meeting the Eimear Fox, listening to the soon to be released tracks, confirming two locations venues, styling decisions finalized, few sets sketched to ensure the shoot will be well execute, a strict time schedule distributed, new gear packed...

{fast forward}

OH, THE FUN WE ALL HAD!

 {fast forward}

It's all a blur but now it's time to keep all distractions on a low and start creating some images that DO NOT fall into the stereotypical cliched band images.

*sneak peek* ~ stay tune for more images to be launched

the forgotten love for post that makes you smile

I'm baffled with the lack of birth announcements in some concrete media form. I understand technology plays the major reason why we don't put pen to paper.

Our lives are nonstop!

It's only when we sit with a cuppa that we make time to look at our smartphones for a weather update on our social media page. That's just CRAZY when we can just look out our window to see for ourselves what is actually happening outside.

Announcing a birth is an amazing gift to all.

Take a moment to welcome your sweet freshly hatched miracle to your close loved ones and friends. Make the decision to post a personalized birth announcement.

We all love receiving post that makes us smile.
